As the UK's biggest digital automotive marketplace, AutoTrader's new Manchester headquarters needed a network built to match the scale and ambition of the business moving into it. With over 900 employees, significant data demands and a 130,000 sq ft space to connect, they needed a partner with the credentials and experience to deliver it right first time. Nomios worked with Auto Trader to design and deploy a full HPE Juniper wired and wireless infrastructure, on time and ready to perform from day one.
The Challenge
When AutoTrader relocated its headquarters to a new 130,000 sq ft space at Circle Square in Manchester, the network had to do justice to the space and the business running on top of it. Over 900 employees, including in-house data scientists and engineers, would depend on it from day one.
AutoTrader is the UK's biggest digital automotive marketplace, with over 400,000 new and used cars listed at any one time and significant data behind all of it, on what's selling, where, and how. The scale of data flowing through the business every day meant the network needed to be built to match AutoTrader's ambitions, not just the building.
AutoTrader wanted the best wired and wireless technology available. HPE Juniper provided a shortlist of delivery partners. Three were considered. Only one proved to be the right fit.
Why Nomios Was Selected
In the initial meeting, Nomios presented a case study from a professional motorsports customer. The project involved moving data from trackside systems back to factories and headquarters across a large, complex network where data needs to be on time and always available, with no margin for error.
The parallel landed immediately. The scale, the complexity, the uncompromising availability requirements all mapped directly to what AutoTrader was trying to achieve in Manchester. Combined with Nomios's credentials as an HPE Juniper Elite Plus Service Partner, with over 340 Juniper certifications and a track record across complex enterprise environments, the decision was made.
The Solution
Nomios sat down with AutoTrader's internal team and worked through the design together. The approach was collaborative from the start, drawing up the architecture jointly, aligning it to how the building would actually be used, and moving quickly once the equipment could physically go in.
As soon as the kit was on site, it was installed and working.
The deployment covered the full wired and wireless infrastructure across the 130,000 sq ft, multi-floor headquarters, built on HPE Juniper technology and configured to support a large, technically demanding workforce from day one.
A New Home, Built to Perform.
Circle Square is one of Manchester's most ambitious commercial developments, and AutoTrader's headquarters sits at its heart. Here's a look at the space the Nomios team helped bring to life.

The Outcome
The network went live without issue. Walk around AutoTrader's Manchester HQ today and the infrastructure is doing exactly what it should, running quietly in the background, keeping 900-plus people connected, and giving the business a solid platform to build on.
The users love the space. The network just works. And AutoTrader has the foundations in place for whatever comes next, knowing Nomios is there when they need them.
Support wise, knowing that we've got the backup of Nomios, decent engineering, decent project management, feeling like we can always reach out to them if we need to.
